More than 60 percent of the rural youth drop out after the 8th standard.
With the government not having any programme to impart any training leading to employment, the rural youth become victims of local crime. Even though every district in India has ITI’s, the educational qualification for entry is at least 10th standard pass.
VOI with co-operation of local panchayat started vocational and technical training for the youth to enable them to find employment. With a number of Industries opening up to the undeveloped areas, the local people are being trained to find employment in these industries. The aim is to have the unemployed youth and elders becoming productive members of society.
